Best At-Home Coffee Grinders (2025 UK)

tl;dr: Fellow = Yes

You can’t go wrong with Fellow; Get their Ode Gen 2 for killer filter coffee or the Opus if you need espresso and filter versatility. 🔥☕

If you're serious about coffee, an electric burr grinder is a must-have. Unlike blade grinders (which alas, are the cheaper option), burr grinders are way more consistent and you’ve got more control over grind size, meaning your coffee based dreams are endless.

Whether you're making espresso, pour-over, or French press, the right grinder will seriously elevate your brew. Below, we compare the best at-home coffee grinders available in the UK in 2025, from budget-friendly options to high-end masterpieces.

Best all rounder:

Fellow Opus - £209.95

Suitable for: Absolutely everying

Cons:

  • Does retain some grounds, bit annoying really

Pros:

  • Huge grind range, from fine espresso up to chunky cold brew

  • Very consistent grinds

  • Quiet operation with automatic shut-off

  • Looks cool as fuck

  • Fairly compact

Meet the Fellow Opus — a workhorse of a grinder that brings out the best in your coffee, no matter how you brew at home. From rich, syrupy espresso to chilly cold brews, its got a high-torque motor and 6-blade burr set deliver top-tier grind consistency with 41 precision settings.

Designed to handle every brew method while keeping your setup looking slicker than rick, it’s packed with smart features: a volumetric dosing lid for easy measuring, a spouted catch for mess-free transfers, anti-static tech to cut down on grind retention (god knows how bad this would be without this tech), and a handy grind guide so you’re always dialled in.

Buy it from Origin - you get 3 months worth of beans included and you’re not giving more money to Bezos. Win win.

The Fellow Ode Gen 2 is a premium home grinder designed for filter coffee nuts. It’s remarkably consistent and can be easily adjusted to suit each roast and holds back very few grounds. If you primarily brew pour-over, Aeropress, or French press, this is the best option, however if you're wanting to grind for espresso (or brew some of that good good cold brew in Summer) I’d give this a miss and go for the Opus, also by Fellow.
